BSc in Chemistry, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, 1991

Professional Experience:

2006 ----: Professor, CAS Key Lab for Biomedical Effects of Nanomaterials and    Nanosafety, National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, China

2001-2002: Post-doctoral, Medical Nobel Institute for Biochemistry of Karolinska Institute, Sweden

1998-2006: Associate Professor and Professor, Key Laboratory of Nuclear Analytical Techniques, Institute of High Energy Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences

1996-1998: Post-doctoral, Key Laboratory of Nuclear Analytical Techniques, Institute of High Energy Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences

Research Interests:

1. The potential toxicity of nanoparticles used for nanotechnology applications, investigating the mechanism of toxicity and the key properties of the nanoparticles that make them toxic.

2. Therapy for malignant tumor using nanoparticles, for their immunomodulatory effects, drug delivery and tumor targeting. Extensive in vitro and in vivo studies are involving in cellular uptake and intracellular trafficking of nanoparticles, biodistribution in vivo, and tissue and cellular targeting for cancer treatment.

3. Methodology for metallomics and metalloproteomics by advanced analytical techniques such as isotopic labeling and synchrotron radiation based techniques that allow the detection of interaction of metal and molecular species.
