Research Interests:

Biological effects of heavy ion beam

Biogenesis of cancer stem cells induced by ionizing radiation

Functions of radiation-inducible non-coding RNAs

Development of anti-radiation drugs

Research Experience and Accomplishments:

1. Elucidated a novel mechanism of cellular radiosensitivity, namely cell cycle suspension and consequent G2 slippage.

2. Identified 10 kinds of novel microRNAs and experimentally revealed a microRNA-protein network regulating radiobiological effects induced by ionizing radiation.

3. Studied the radiobiological effects of various kinds of heavy particles and secondary radiation.

4. Developed a free radical scavenger.
