Research Interests:

1. The Functions and Radio-sensitization of Tumor Suppressor Gene Tob1 in Cancer.

[1] Studies of biological functions and mechanisms of Tob1 in breast, ovarian, and lung cancer.

[2] Radio-sensitization of Tob1 in breast, ovarian, and lung cancer cell lines.

2. The Functions and Mechanisms of Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in IR induced DNA Damage .

[1] Investigation of the possibility of LncRNAs serving as a novel biological dosimeter of ionizing irradiation.

[2] The effects and mechanisms of LncRNAs in IR induced DNA damage.

Research Experience and Accomplishments:

I am an associate professor from Department of Radiation Genetics, School of Radiation Medicine and Protection of Soochow University, Jiangsu Province, PR China. After graduated from Soochow University and got the Ph.D. degree in 2007, I have been working in Soochow University. My research work is mainly about teaching (undergraduate students and graduate students) and doing scientific research. My current research focuses on (1) The functions and mechanisms of long non-coding RNAs in thoracic cancer therapy (project supported by the Natural Science Foundation of China, Granted No. 81302382 ); (2) The functions of antiproliferative gene Tob1 in cancer radiotherapy (supported by the Doctoral Fund of Ministry of Education, Granted No.20103201120016); (3) The development and screening of novel anti-cancer drugs etc..

As listed in my CV, from 2005 to 2007, I went to the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, Georgetown University at Washington DC in US, as Research fellow. Due to this experience, 10 year later Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education has approved my request to do research abroad. During this time, I will focus on anticancer properties and mechanisms of metal chelators as anticancer drugs and radiosensitizers in human carcinoma for one year. After that, I hope I can broaden my research work in radiation oncology on the basis of experience in previous studies and the experience at Oklahoma University.
